Marhaban ya Ramadhan

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

“It was the month of Ramadan in which the Qur’an was (first) bestowed from on high as a guidance unto man and a self-evident proof of that guidance, and as the standard by which to discern the true from the false. Hence, whoever of you lives to see this month shall fast throughout it; but he that is ill, or on a journey, (shall fast instead for the same) number on other days. Allah wills that you shall have ease, and does not will you to suffer hardship; but (He desires) that you complete the number (of days required), and that you extol God for His having guided you aright, and that you may render your thanks (unto Him).”

- (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185 )

maafkan salah silap, halalkan makan minum, moga Ramadhan membawa seribu ketenangan iman.

3 Things

so i watched “the proposal” today with the girls after over a week since its debut here. there were quite a number of guys who were dragged by their girlfriends to watch the movie too. heh. that's as "subtle" as it gets for some ladies who are waiting for their guy to pop the question.

3 things:
1. i’m like margaret in a way - am really afraid to fall in love and be with someone hence maybe more than once i’ve let go the opportunity to be with a wonderful guy & i am a workaholic.

(but no - i hope i'm not a lady-bitch at work :p)

2. i love alaska. it’s amazing (and quite romantic)! i must go there if i ever go back to the states.

3. *sigh* i am so in love with ryan reynolds!

maybe it really takes a guy like Andrew to put some senses in someone like Margaret. because afterall, all these macho - independent woman act can be a destructive companion.

now. where can i find my Andrew? *-*

toodles!

worth it?

أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
“And He is Allah (to be worshipped alone) in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your secret (thoughts) and your open (words), and He knows what you earn (good or bad).”
- (Surah Al-An’am 6:3)
-----------------------

on days like today when i worked on multiple events in one day, with direct meeting with VPs, dealings with multiple units, i ought to question - what's in it for me? high performance recognition? yeah rite. promotion? hmm yeah rite.

but really. He knows. He knows how much i want things to go well. He knows even if this one particular person thinks i exaggerate little things to be big. He knows. and the persons closest to me know. that's good enough.

but tell me. is it even logical to have ONE person in charge of ALL corporate events in the company. (2 if you include my mgr). is it even logical to have this same ONE person to coordinate local and international subsidiaries' events? from JB to Korea to Japan, not to forget those happening in KL.

i know it's my choice. i have a choice to move on. i know. really one step closer towards it. really. i love what i do. i just wish i have someone to share this burden with. my shoulders are broad but apparently not sturdy enough for this pile of crap. *-*

the chaos

watching how KL was weakened by the thousands of protestors last weekend was really surprising. did that really happen in my beloved country?

thousands of public were exposed to risk. kids, women, the elderly. all either trapped in stores or sought refuge in stores.

what do these people get for congregating and screaming slogans that they don't really understand about?

will they get money? guarantee of good life? honour & pride? they had no idea what they were doing. and most of them came all the way to KL for the rally. was it worth it to even try to get agressive?

i hate seeing innocent people being put to risk.

there are other ways to do this. there must be. just don't get the public involved. don't sacrifice naive villagers for reasons they don't really understand.

have you lived a peaceful life in the country?
because i have. we had great time going to schools and college and now working in KL. my friends are multiracial - regardless of race and religions, or even political beliefs. and when you walk around in the malls, or the park or other public places, would you even think for a second that anyone would attack you?

i was in the states during the9-11. i was there. and i know how scary it could be. please don't let me be scared living in my country that i have been proud of.

let's keep that incident last week a last. at least for a very long time. they just have to aim for more peaceful, less agressive approach.

hey, the cake's big enough for everyone.

more power can just kill some people.
